How I Became A Badfinger Fan

I turned 41 on Oct. 4, and remember the first time I really took notice of Badfinger, like it was yesterday. I had heard COME AND GET IT on the radio in junior high school circa 1969, but wasn't "floored" by their sound. It was the first time I heard BABY BLUE that I had to have this band's LP.I was sure it was the BEATLES.I was riding in a VW van with our receation park counselor, and was totally captured by the sound of the group. To this day I still rate the song as one of the all time great Rock n Roll songs. It has everything.Power, harmony, beat, and emotion.I get chills when I hear that song.I immediately bought STRAIGHT UP (I had a paper route),and still love ervery cut on the LP.I have all of the original vinyl LP's in mint condition, and wouldn't part with them for anything. But STRAIGHT UP is my clear favorite.I followed the group as much as possible, but never had the opportunity to see them live in concert. That is why I would love to have some live tapes.Nearly 30 years later I am still passionate about this band, and I am very "uplifted" to see younger fans (like yourself) keeping their music strong. And I must add, that WISH YOU WERE HERE is a masterpiece.Good choice for your site.I remember buying that LP as well.I was shocked years later to learn the LP was pulled from the shelves.I was a lucky one, I guess. But I have almost all of the reissues on CD now, and glad they are available. That's my story, simple, but having a lasting impact.
